Project Description

MysTREE is a creative installation in the namaz (prayer) area, edging a large pond of a vocational training campus. The aim of this installation is not only to provide a head cover but to also add a creative, out of the box element on the grounds of a technical institute. The installation hopes to emulate the idea of a tree by using scrap metal sections. The slanted tree trunk is composed of varying sized square sections, telescopically connected to provide structural support. The leaves or the canopies of the tree is made up of circular sections or varied length, creating shade and shadow throughout the day. MysTREE has been painted in a gradation of colours, adding to the installation’s experience, adding an element of mystery yet being technically sound and creative in its outlook.
