The Alamein Towers concept is a competition entry inspired by the client’s brief to create a distinctive, residential and commercial tower development in Alamein, one of Egypt’s new cities. Alamein, which sits on the Mediterranean coast in the northwest of Egypt, was conceived in 2018 by the Egyptian Government as a center of tourism, education, and government. The four 49-story residential towers are part of a luxury development in this new city, benefitting from stunning lagoon views. The design includes four residential towers on top of a 2-story podium. It has a varied unit mix comprising 1-, 2-, and 3-bedroom units, plus 30 waterfront cabanas in front of the podium overlooking the lagoon view. KEO based the design vision on three key aspects: Destination, Experience, and Unique Living that creates a true mixed offering blending public and private environments in a park-like setting that includes on-grade outdoor amenities conveniently situated along the water’s edge. The podium includes open and vibrant shopping spaces with F&B integrated into the surrounding water features and urban grid. The towers are vertically oriented and situated for maximum view corridors with convenient access above and below. The towers connect near the top with a sky deck bridge that offers dramatic sweeping views and various amenities for both public and private uses. This project is critical to the development of New Alamein city, and the Egyptian people, as they seek to create new sustainable urban centers.
